family day

Had an awesome day today with both my spiritual and natural family – had lunch with some of the guys and girls helping out with the group, a nice “sports” (yes that word is being used very loosely) afternoon in the park, and to the Brooke Fraser concert with my sister and friends at night.

Seriously, I don’t remember having so much fun in such a long long time. I love the church family!!! You can read Trung & Tash’s accounts here and here (just disregard the parts about me whining and crying out nurse NURSE!). Man it was just so great to be able to come together (with new friends too), kick the ball around, act a little be spastic, and feel like having a family day and bask in each others love (ok maybe a bit too much).

Just want to say to my 2nd family – love & appreciate you guys heaps. Seriously I can not think of better bunch of people to do life with.

Ok some photos (thank you facebook… I mean Jien-Mae):

Our water balloon chucking game. I think this photo was right when I yelled out, “LEON!!” for throwing it too hard; and then seeing it burst in the palm of my hand.

… the result …

… the winners …

Trung and my evil younger brother Mark. Why does Trung still have a wet patch even though they won… well – ask Mark. I guess we can say that merely winning isn’t enough for Mark haha. (I deny ever having telling you to peg it dude)

Nice little family shot… sorry to all the people who were off still playing / sitting at the other bench etc. The guy who looks too young is Sylv’s little brother. Yes, he is too young and yes he is massive for a 6 year old.

And to close it off – me doing the dolphin style. One of the many games invented today (some are a bit too crude to mention). I was trying to jump through the hula-hoop.

Wow this is turning to be one massive post. Ok the cliffnote version of tonite! Bought my dear sis and my dear self and my dear good friend Ray tickets to see Brooke Fraser @ Tivoli. It turned out to be a great night of not just great music, but also just spending quality time together. Was really grateful for that time together as well with others like my BFF Nick
(hahaha), Cait (stirrer! was good to catch up), Justin (down in front!!), John the guitarist (please seat in your designated seating!), baby Mok (whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?), Lis, Ames & Charis etc.

Jess – i know you secretly read this blog. Thanks for dinner and a great time! Glad you liked Brooke… Love ya sis (big punch in the arm).

  3. maet Says:

yeh man. great day! Was so praying against the small rain drops that were falling.

I wonder if Christianne got video footage of the chris whining like a girl saga.. ahaha classic.
“you know what would make me feel better?” haha. please.
    no one touches my waterbombs

  5. cait Says:

brooke was amazing! yes it was also a great opportunity to live up to my “stirrer” label

  6. Mark Says:

trung is wet cos my overly loving and caring care group (lg for those who cant be stuck in the past with me) leader told me to throw it at trung. i didnt want to do it but im pretty sure that following our leaders directions comes under the ‘obedience’ umbrella -ella -ella -aye -aye (man i hate that song) and it didnt go against anything in the Bible

… mark… just because you’ve been given the right to do it doesn’t mean it’s right.

hah i’ve been waiting 3 days before writing a comment [ i have no idea why lol] but yea, that was a pretty awesome day… very memorable – despite having to leave early.

I don’t think powerhouse will forget the ‘nurse nurse!’ cries… and i know i won’t forget the ‘mark! mark! hold my hand!’ ones either… ones that mark ignored!! all in all – a lot of memorable moments that i should blog about… but .. i can’t think of an excuse. :P maybe i will. hmm…

  8. chris Says:

ok sorry to all the names i didn’t mention for the brooke fraser concert. geez people! (except for mei, since you abandoned us to go sit on the 2nd row)

john – yep on for switchfoot! let’s go…

mae – it was totally worth a try!

natroz – he is what! huge for a 6 y/o! anyways i have a hunch that Leo doesn’t read my blog so i should be in the safe :) . and what sort of nurse doesn’t respond to someone calling nurse? i should’ve yelled MEDIC!!

cait – yes you more than lived up to it already, no need to prove yourself anymore. hahaha. otherwise i might go and set up a club. haha.

mark – dude you totally wanted to do it… it would’ve been the biggest anti climax if you didn’t. what’s the point of having water balloons in tact? what are you going to do? take it home? and don’t pull the leader card because you fully wanted to do it!

anne – wow 3 days huh. you could’ve written an essay in 3 days.

which reminds me, mark i am disappointed you did not come to my rescue when i hurt my toe
